Guide to Visit Tirupati




Tirupati, "Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh"  is a city known as one of the holiest Hindu religious city. City is basically famous for temples namely for Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of the richest temples in India. Tiru means  Goddess Lakshmi and Pathi means Husband. So, it is known as the Sacred abode of Vishnu.

Tirumala Venkateswara temple is known as one of the eight Sywayambu Kshetras of lord Vishnu. Architecture of temple is marvellous, it is eye catching. Enviornment of  Garbhagriha is very soothing. Though each day is celebrated as festival, Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavams, a nine-day annual festival celebrated every year during month of October. Hair tonsuring is a common practice there.

How to reach:

Tirupati is located at a distance of 145 km away from Chennai and 416 km south-west of Banglore. Whereas, Tirupati is about 55 3kms away from Hydrabad. 

By Air:
Renigunta is the closest airport to Tirupati which is, about 15 km. from the city. Flights to Renigunta Airport are available from, Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other major cities. One can reach Renigunta Airport via cabs in reasonable rates.

By Rail:
Tirupati railway station it connects it with Bangalore, Mumbai, Puri, Trivandrum, Chennai and Hyderabad.

By Road:
 One can reach Tirupati via road. Available options are cabs and buses . One can also opt for a tour package Tirupati temple from Chennai, Hydrabad, Banglore.

Best time to visit:

Tirupati is crowed by devotees all throughout the year. So you can’t escape from it. However, if you are looking for ideal weather conditions to visit the place you must go there between November and March.

There is plenty of staying options available. One can opt for hotel, according to budget, as well as lodges, guest houses and rooms for rent also available near Tirupati temple.
